Hort Park

Alicia suggested Hort Park for class gathering. But I don't really want to go there because

1) It's very hot in the afternoons

2) There's A LOT OF INSECTS

3) Most of our ex-classmates like to go to some fast food restaurant to chill and enjoy the air con or buy drinks but there's none in Hort Park (although it might be better as these guys probably won't have any more excuse to run off somewhere to hide)

There's a mini-cafe there but I seriously think that the food prices would be really high. There's quite cheap ice-cream though. But there are no chairs, only tables.

And for all the 'rich' people, there's an restaurant there with beautiful scenery so that you can bring your girlfriend there during Valentines Day in the future.

I don't know what you all think, but if you seriously want to have a picnic to Hort Park, I suggest that everyone should bring something to eat (less of potato chips if you do not wish to get a heatstroke) and have loads of activities planned because it's going to be boring there unless you are some crazy plant lover. I mean plant lover.

I'm sorry if I sound like the venue is already fixed. It is NOT. (I'm not the organiser) And actually I don't really mind going there for class gathering.

March Class Gathering

This year we should start planning our gathering earlier before anyone starts filling their holidays with programmes.

Plus we should help Pui Yee or whoever the organiser will be. It's really tough to get everyone to come and plan activities for everyone to enjoy.

So we should start deciding a very nice date and a very nice venue to host our beloved and long awaited gathering. Start suggesting NOW before you get busy alright?

And when the day comes, don't complain. Because it'll be mostly your suggestions.

And those who haven't nominate better nominate now before I start chasing you. It's just a very short email. Or you can nominate through MSN chat. I don't mind.

6 Amethyst Year End class gathering.

VENUE , the bbq pit near blk 224 in bukit batok. There is a basketball court near it , and a playground.

*If you don't know how to get there , pls talk to me or ask ur friends. :D

DATE , 11 Dec 09 (friday).

TIME , 12.30 pm to around 5pm.

ACTIVITIES , we'll be bbq-ing , then we'll play some games. And erm , you can bring a basketball / volleyball / whatever whatever. Yes , WE ARE PLANNING GAMES FOR YOU ALL.

AND , we are currently paying for all the food and stuff. So you most probably need not pay. So DON'T complain. And , PLS COME FOR THE GATHERING. LAST one of the year , CAN'T YOU JUST COME. DON'T give me stupid excuses okay.

NOTE , only An Qi , David , Brandon are excused from the gathering because they have valid reasons.

The rest of you should come and MUST come.

PREPARATIONS , I'll get a few people to do the preparations. Erm , it would be better if you can volunteer. If you're volunteering , tell me through sms/msn. Yay. :D

IMPORTANT , the date still might change (because bbq pit fully booked or what). In that case , pls check ur phones. And if you have changed your number , PLS TELL ME. If you just tag the tagboard or post on facebook , I might not know.

You can wear anything you like actually, just not too much exposure of your skin. So, you can act like you love Keming a lot and wear the uniform(I'm being sarcastic here. Don't take me too literally). Who the heck cares. (Dress code : Smart Casual)

ECP & Class Gathering

Ya, I know everyone's talking about it. It's really far and inconvenient and quite some people don't know how to get there. But then look. Class gatherings come only once in the school holidays other than youre own personal outings with your old classmates. ONLY ONCE. And to add on, there aren't many school holidays and opportunities for us to meet in a YEAR. So take this chance to enjoy the gathering and meet some old friends. AND BE MOPRE SUPPORTIVE.

It's not easy to organise a gathering whereby most of the people can come. And the location we're looking for is a place that has good facilities and fun activities, isn't that so?

And Vivo City. Wow. THINK PLEASE. If we go Vivo city, the whole group will probably SPLIT. I am very sure of that. Some people will take the chance to shop. Then the boys who think that shopping is very girly will start to crowd about somewhere and do some weird weird stuff.

And Keming. I think I said before. We would probably need a teacher's permission to let us enter the school. And why would Mdm Tan, Mrs Leong, Mdm Tong or Mrs Kek let us in for little reason? Even if we are allowed in, what can we do? Chit-chat? We can do that in MSN or on the phone. Face to face? You could use a webcam! And even so, in the school, do you think you will be chatting as a class? We will split AGAIN. And remember, we are known for our beautiful loud voices that can travel for long distances. Wouldn't teachers COMPLAIN? Probably there will be students coming back for supplementary or CCA too, wouldn't we disturb them and get AWESOME complaints? And if we organise activities there, probably we'll make a mess or some noise. Please. IF you really want to be grateful to the school, don't come back unless necessary(by that I mean by thanking the teachers). The teachers won't be grateful if you call them back from their holidays or ruin it. IF you mean come back to Keming as in outside Keming, could you please state what can you do outside?

Really. Is not that the organiser wants to purposely choose a location far far away! It's just more fun there. Didn't some peeps out there want a chalet to stay overnight? Aren't chalets far away from your home? Aren't chalets so not like your home? So why would a chalet be convenient? And ECP has chalets. I don't know why you would like to complain so much about it. It's just a location. It doesn't cost like $50 to get there.

I'm not taking sides. I admit convenience would be good too. But then the fun is more important and organising a gathering is really not easy. The organiser also just wanted us to have fun.

And if you don't know how to get there, ask around! I believe you still keep in contact with 6 Amethyst people right? You can go with them! Simple solution.

So please be more co-operative. Thank you for listening to me saying so much. But then most of you will agree that at least 1% of this crap makes sense.

Wish the all so 'fantastic' class will enjoy this.

Oh ya, even after I say this, I can't come because my father does not allow me to go especially because we don't know when it ends.

Hello people.
I want to say something.
Hmm... I'm very disappointed in those who chosen not to come when they can make it.
Oh , I can only say that they are meanies.
Really , don't they miss their friends?
And people , those things which I said like... not organising anymore gatherings are just words of angers.
Don't take it seriously.
That day , I was really very fed up.

So erm...
Maybe we did overplanned for such a small gathering.
And maybe it's small because it's very hard to ensure everybody can make it.
I know , in just seven days of holidays , a lot have many many activities.
I can't say anything for that.
But most of all, really really , it's hard on Li Yee already.
Let's give her a big THANK YOU.

I think , most probably , I'm hosting the june gathering.
But who knows? I may just get as fed up and cancel it.

Juz posting for the sake of posting....nothing to do now...o and btw can we like make the next gathering a sports gathering where we can play basketball or smth...its more fun and like more boys would for sure turn up....but then girls....i dun noe wat they'll be doing....yeah so thats my suggestion....and btw pui yee dun get so fed up when ppl dun turn up for the gatherings....ppl are very busy and are not as free as u....they've got cca thrice or almost everyday....tons of hmk n other better thing to do.....further more right most of the time, gatherings dun turn out as planned...like u usually plan so many activities but in the end also nvr carry them out wat so also no use....rather then making it so complicated juz make it simple lo...like maybe juz playing basketball or captains ball boyz vs girls or mix....or like boys play competition and girls cheer...and u shld invite teachers too...thats part of class spirit btw....so happy we trash clementi twn by 43 points today...so shiok...even though i got burnt manny times by opponent....

DUE TO THE FACT THAT, I'M NOT RECEIVING ENOUGH HELP PLUS MY MSN MESSENGER IS NOT REALLY WORKING, IT IS CANCELLED!

Okay, just joking don't take it too seriously, it's just to attract attention as this is a MUST-READ.

Everybody should come by 9 a.m. and late people will be grouped by me and no choice is given. Classmates participating will be split to 2 major groups. Extras will be made into hosting team since there's not enough people.

You all always don't want to volunteer... PLUS RIGHT, THIS IS YOUR EX-CLASSMATE'S GATHERING, YOU ALL DON'T REMEMBER YOUR FRIENDS ALREADY?! For small things like "I want to stay home to play computer" you don't come. And those non-important activities that can be postponed or cancelled, can you please just push it aside and come?! You don't have this everyday.

While we are setting up stations, please select a group leader . Meanwhile, I'll go around to check on the stations. When I'm back, please inform me about the group leader's name.

The games are very simple due to rushed planning.

Activity log:

Group 1:

-Captain's ball

-Station 1

-Station 2

-Station 3

-Station 4

Group 2:

-Captain's ball

-Station 4

-Station 3

-Station 1

Should any group come to the station and have to wait for the other group to complete, the stationmaster will calculate the time the group has to wait and add bonus points accordingly.

Stationmasters should also take note that they can minus points if the group refuses to co-operate.

Timetable:

-Meeting at McDonalds(please reach by 10 am)

-Grouping

-Setting up of stations/Selecting of group leader

-Game commences

-Stop at 12.30 and gather at McDonalds.(No matter whether you are in middle of the game, you will restart after lunch.)

-1 hour lunch. Hosting team to report earlier by 10 mins at Grand Lawn.

-Games resume.

-All games ended please report at the Grand Lawn.

-Cheering competition

-Sabo time?

-Pui Yee gives out prizes

- Free time/ Ending time(May not be exactly be 6pm)

Anyone who does not know how to take bus to West Coast Park or wants to take bus with me please meet at the shop next to Bukit Batok CC.

Equipment needed:

-2 volleyballs/netballs/basketballs -Hui Wen and Adeline

-2 hula hoops(hopefully)

-4 containers

-2 pairs of wooden chopsticks -Nina

-ping pong balls

-marbles -Alicia

-2 blindfolds

-2 garbage bags

-4 stopwatches(I might be able to get this one)

-a pack of playing cards

-coloured paper

I have a something to tell all of you.
Hmm... I'm so sorry to say but...
I could only be there at the gathering only at about 3 plus , reaching 4.
I have somewhere to go before that.
It's compulsory for me.
If not , I would have chosen otherwise.

So erm... please give Li Yee help.
I'm afraid she cannot manage it alone.
All of you better co-operate!

Also , for my sake , stay until the whole thing end can?
I'm very scared that by the time I'm there ,

Sorry, for posting apparently for no reason. Just wanted to remind all of you of the coming gathering. These are very common sense reminders...

Bring along:

-A pen/or pencil(optional)

-Water bottle

-Extra set of clothes/towel(optional)

-Wallet

-Handphone

-Bus card(if you're taking bus, duhh)

-Game items(for volunteers)

More on grouping

I am going to explain further how people will be grouped. Firstly, we will let you spilt yourselves. But if the number of members are not evenly split, either people will be sacrificed or we come in and mix the girls and boys so you better make sure you all spilt properly. Those who come late will either help out at stations or join the group that needs people as Pui Yee had stated. You will have to come up with group names or I or Pui Yee will be naming your group which might sound not very nice.

We still need volunteers for the game stations about 7 more so if you believe you are trustworthy enough you might want to try rendering help.

This is a very important announcement!

Firstly, the games here might make you very sweaty and dirty, so I suggest you bring an extra set of clothes to change into.

Another thing is, we have planned alot of games which mean it's going to be complicated. If there are troubles on that day, report to us and please don't be complainative about it since we are the same age as YOU and if you could plan it better then you go do it and prove it then. That's not the main point. The main thing is to co-operate and listen to the hosts and gamehosts. Well, if you don't, too bad, we might just remove you from the activities. You don't care so we too. (Sorry if I debated too much.)

Games need equipment too so I would greatly appreciate if there are more volunteers that I can trust to bring some of the equipment. Warning for all those not volunteering, these are not your equipment so do not spoil. This especially goes to all the violent boys in 6 Amethyst and you know who you are. ;) Wink wink.

The list of equipment will be put up soon! Be patient. And the MOST MOST important thing is to have fun. :D

IMPORTANT NOTES PLEASE READ

Although the events starts at 11am , it is compulsory that you must be there by 10am because we need to prepare!
However , please be there as early as possible and on time.
Lunch will be at the Mcdonald's there , but you are recommended to bring your own lunch as Mcdonald's will definitely be crowded.
Please do not play rough during the events as you might get injured.
Please wear casual , cooling clothes and girls are not advised to wear skirts.
Do not disgrace yourselves infront of the public by misbehaving.
As West Coast is a public place , our play area will be quite limited.
If you know you are going to be late , please inform either Li Yee or Pui Yee at least 15 minutes before you are reaching.
Please co-operate with the hosting team / station masters at all times especially when receiving instructions.
If you are lost and cannot find our meeting point , please contact Li Yee or Pui Yee.
If you cannot make it for the gathering due to valid reasons, please inform Li Yee at least weeks before the gathering.
Because we have put in great effort in organising this gathering , your presence is very much appreciated and your absence will definitely disappoint us.

MORE INFORMATION ON THE MINI SPORTS DAY

About the grouping :

There will be 4 groups.
The groups will compete among each other.
You will get to choose your own group if you are there before 10.00 am.
A group leader must be appointed.
Not everybody will be required to play in every single game.

About the point system :

There will be a station master for each game.
The station master will award points according to the points you got in the game itself , your enthusiasm and your teamwork.
The group who got the highest accumulated points will win 1st , 2nd and 3rd respectively.

About the awards :

Most Spontaneous Group - For the group which is the most enthusiastic.
Best Teamwork Group - For the group which worked together the best.
1st in Mini Sports Day - For the group with highest accumulated points.
2nd in Mini Sports Day - For the group with second highest accumulated points.
3rd in Mini Sports Day - For the group with third highest accumulated points.

About the prizes :

Will be sweets and tibits.
Groups with better awards get better prizes.
We apologise for not being able to get money to buy prizes as it is just for a gathering.
The most valuable prize would be friendship and bonding , isn't it?

About the events :

Captain's Ball - 2 groups play against each other at one time - All group members required to play
Relay (Short Distance) - Relay , for 4 laps , only a short distance - 4 representives from each group to race
Adventure Hunt - Searching of hidden item in a given area - All group members required to play

Participating team :

Those playing in the mini sports day and not in hosting team
Participating team will be further divided into groups

Hosting team :

Those in-charge of the gathering and helpers.
Will not be playing in the mini sports day

1 Standby - Haolin
2 Overall in-charge - Li Yee & Pui Yee
6 Station Masters - 2 for Captain's Ball , 1 for Treasure Hunt , 1 for Race (Yeeshuin) , 2 for the two not decided games

P.S. Need people to help bring the following equipment / items : 2 Balls (Recommended volleyball / normal ball , not hard ones) & candies or tibits (strictly those which you didn't want to eat and want to donate)
